Planar Lightwave Circuits was envisaged as the next generation Optical devices and much research and development done in this area.

Planar Lightwave Circuits was envisaged as the next generation Optical devices and much research and development done in this area. Dr.Suresh was the Project Manager of DECIO project funded by Government of India to set up a Design and Engineering Centre for Integrated Optics. Considerable research was done on Titanium Indiffused Lithium Niobate waveguides, Sol Gel based devices, BK7 Glass and Silicon based devices. A full fledged facility was set up to do all steps from design to packaging at SAMEER. Many novel devices were designed and optimized first time in India.
